Vestas secures two orders in US

Vestas, a global company which designs, manufactures, installs, and services wind turbines, has secured a new contracts in the US for supplying V110-2.0 MW turbine components that both enable future project pipeline and repowering of existing operating assets.

The 67MW order also includes delivery and commissioning of the wind turbines, while it is reported that multiple components will be produced at Vestas’ Colorado factories.

The other order includes 29MW project where Vestas will be supplying V110-2.0 MW turbine components for repowering wind projects.

It was the third repowering order for the company in the US in December 2016.

Vestas sales and service division president in the US and Canada Chris Brown said: “At Vestas we always look for ways to add value through collaboration and innovation in our technology and solutions.

"Vestas’ repowering solutions is an example of this and will be used to unlock even more value and performance from existing wind projects.”

The company explained that by repowering existing and aging wind projects with new technology would increase the capacity over the coming years and would offer substantial returns from increased annual energy production and reduced operating costs.

The company has not divulged the name of the client on the request of customer.
