DEWETRON Data Acquisition and Measuring Solutions for Windpower and Solar Facilities

Measurement solutions

DEWETRON specialises in data acquisition systems and test and measurement solutions for the renewable industry.

The company’s products are used in range of applications that include vehicle testing, e-mobility and battery performance, hybrid electric engines and dynamics and durability.

Synchronised measuring for motors, inverters and photovoltaic testing

DEWETRON’s products have high-accuracy, high-bandwidth (6MHz), high sampling rates (up to 10MS), high-voltage measurement range (1,600V) and full-isolated (4kV) inputs.

These guarantee a reliable broadband measurement, in areas such as:

  • Motor and inverter testing
  • Wind and photovoltaic testing
  • E-drive testing, and more

The company’s SYNC-CLOCK technology uses data from many sources in one recording and synchronises it. This leads to faster and easier data processing.

DEWETRON has signal conditioners for a vast number of signals and sensors, with clients able to customise the displays and outputs.

Amplifiers and frequency converters for electric vehicles

High sampling rates are necessary to achieve pulse frequencies of up to 100kHz.

DEWETRON systems enable a sampling rate of up to 10MS/s, which produces an exact analysis of the pulse packages of frequency inverters.

Galvanic-isolated amplifiers from DEWETRON have a bandwidth of up to 2MHz, which ensure that a bandwidth of up to 1MHz can be reached.

Recording analogue, digital, GPS and video data for measuring

DEWETRON’s SYNC-CLOCK technology guarantees high-quality synchronised measurements.

It records analogue, digital, CAN-bus, GPS, counter and video data during the measurement process, ensuring that users do not need to plan for additional work. Error sources are also reduced.

Current transducers and shunt-amplifier modules

All types of current transducers can be connected to DEWETRON systems because of its modular design.

Modules are galvanic-isolated with an accuracy of 0.02% and clients can measure the current using a variety of solutions, including:

  • Shunt-amplifier modules (30Apeak)
  • External sensors, including shunt and clamp
  • Low-voltage modules
  • Simple flexcoils, where the integrator is located in the device

DEWETRON provides different sensors for current input such as direct, low-voltage or flexcoil.

Sensors for measurements and testing applications

Different signal inputs, including analogue, digital, counter / encoder, video, GPS and various bus systems such as CAN, are available. These are synchronised during the recording process.

Voltage, current, rpm, force, torque, noise, vibration, emission data, temperature, pressure and wind speed sensors can be connected to the DEWETRON system using an anemometer. This can also be expanded to increase input channels.

Mobile measurement systems with external battery packs

DEWETRON systems can be fitted with battery packs for efficient measurements during real driving conditions.

Battery packs are hot-swappable, which ensures arbitrary length of the measurements, including energy consumption at an empty run of a vehicle.

Customised and on-demand amplifier modules

DEWETRON’s amplifier modules can be customised by the user to suit their needs. The input range can be modified to improve the resolution by up to five times.

The analogue inputs include voltage, current, pressure, acceleration, resistance, frequency, full, half and quarter bridges, as well as IEPE® sensors, thermocouples and PT100 to PT1000 and charge.

DEWETRON integrates a powerful sensor database and TEDs support to manage these sensors effectively.

DEWETRON instruments are designed to fulfil the requirements of different norms and power quality measurement standards, including IEC-61000-4-30 class A, EN50160, IEEE1159, and more.

Data acquisition and customised measurement solutions

DEWETRON supplies data acquisition instruments and customised system solutions worldwide, in all areas of research and development.

Around 260,000 measurement channels and more than 12,000 systems are in permanent operation in energy and power, automotive, aerospace and transportation applications and industries.

DEWETRON employs more 200 people, who work across the development, production and the distribution of high-precision, computer-based test and measurement instruments.

Founded in 1989 in Graz, Austria, the company has expanded and now has subsidiaries in Germany, China and the US, as well as sales partners in more than 20 countries.

DEWETRON works alongside Augusta Technology AG and new major shareholder, TKH group, as part of an international industry group with a €1.1bn turnover and a workforce of 4,700.
