TGE announces sale of wind development assets of HCE to NextEra

Dallas-based renewable energy company Tri Global Energy (TGE) has announced the sale of its 1,100MW Hale Community Energy (HCE) wind development assets portfolio in Texas to a unit of NextEra Energy Resources.

The HCE has over 190 sq miles of nearly 350 privately owned farm and ranch land in the southern part of Hale County, Texas.

It is a joint venture comprising Hale County Wind Farm, Cotton Wind Farms, Lakeview Wind Farm, and East Mound Renewable Energy Project, for which TGE is a project developer.

Tri Global Energy chairman and CEO John Billingsley said: "Our relationship with NextEra Energy Resources will help us deliver on our promise to positively impact the projects’ host community economies through employment opportunities and tax revenues; generate a substantial rate of return to local community investors; and to generate a second source of income in the form of wind royalties for farmers and landowners."

TGE has 15 ongoing wind generation projects with a capacity of nearly 6,200 MW of electricity.

NextEra has more than 100 wind farms in 19 states and Canada.

Itsoperational portfolio includes Red Canyon Wind Center in Bordon, Blue Summit in Wilbarger County, Garza and Scurry counties and Majestic I and II in Carson and Potter counties.
