Total Solar in partnership with Groupe Carré secures 70 solar projects

Total Solar, an affiliate of French oil and gas company Total, in partnership with the Groupe Carré, has secured 70 projects totaling more than 32MW.

Total Solar senior vice president for renewables Julien Pouget said: “This success follows on from those under previous calls for tenders, especially for own consumption and large carports. We see rooftop solutions as particularly suitable for the development of solar power in France: fast-track deployment, land protection, distributed power production and own consumption.”

SunPower will offer over 500MW of its SunPower E-Series and X-Series solar panels for the 2017 winning various calls for tenders.

SunPower is 57% owned by Total, which manufactures solar panels.

Total is active across the complete photovoltaic value chain, right from manufacturing cells to designing large-scale solar power plants and to installing residential or commercial rooftop systems.

In September , Total signed an agreement to buy an indirect 23% interest in EREN Renewable Energy (EREN RE) to build solar power facilities in emerging marketplaces.
