RGS Energy, Green Lantern to develop solar projects in US

RGS Energy, a commercial and utility division of Real Goods Solar, has partnered with Green Lantern Capital to construct seven solar projects totaling 4.5MW in Vermont, US.

As part of the deal, RGS will design, install, monitor and maintain the solar power systems, while planning to start the construction in 2014 summer and complete it by November.

The company will design solar power systems to generate about 5.3 million kilowatt hours of electricity, on an annual basis.

Green Lantern Capital’s founder and managing partner Luke Shullenberger said the new projects will help in reducing the energy costs of municipalities, schools and businesses.

"We partnered with RGS Energy, a pioneering solar company in the country, because of the best practices they have developed around quality and safety through their extensive experience building similar projects in Vermont and elsewhere," Shullenberger added.

RGS Energy general manager Tim Seamans said the company has installed around 10MW of solar in Vermont, which is more than any other company.

"We are proud that the design, management and construction of these projects will help bring new jobs to Vermont, while supporting the state’s renewable energy goals," Seamans added.
