Xinwei Solar Power Engineering wins two EPC contracts in China

Xinwei Solar Power Engineering (Suzhou), a subsidiary of SPI Energy, has signed two EPC contracts in China.

SPI Energy provides photovoltaic (PV) solutions for business, residential, government and utility customers and investors across the globe.

The newly signed deal includes a 40MW PV power generation project with Inner Mongolia Jitong New Energy Technology and a 6MW project with Linze County Tianheng New Energy.

SPI Energy chairman and CEO Xiaofeng Peng said: "These projects add to SPI Energy’s strategy of delivering high quality solar plants and supplying more clean energy to the grid in China.

"SPI Energy has successfully completed the first phase of these projects and we are delighted to be awarded the remaining EPC work as well."

Under the new contracts, SPI Energy will provide various services ranging from engineering and procurement to construction and distribution for the second phases of the concerned projects.

Located in China’s Inner Mongolia province, the Jitong New Energy project will generate a total of 50MW of power when phase two is complete.

The Linze Tianheng project in Gansu province will generate a total of 12MW of energy.

Both the projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of next year.

Recently, SPI Energy had formed a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based General solar energy company Energy Solutions (GES).

Under the partnership, SPI Energy’s wholly owned Japanese subsidiary, SPI Solar Japan will provide local technical support and sales services to GES and deliver more than 15MW of project sales in this year and 5MW next year.
