Vestas to deliver seven V112-3.45 MW turbines in South Korea

Danish wind turbine manufacturer has received an order from GS Yeongyang Windpower that includes seven V112-3.45 MW turbines for the Yeong Yang Stage 2 Wind Farm project in South Korea.

GS Yeongyang Windpower representative director Ki-Hwan Kim said: “We are very pleased to be working with Vestas again. We have now experienced first-hand the high quality equipment and service that Vestas provides and look forward to our continued co-operation on this next project.”

The project is located in the YoengYang County. Vestas received this supply and supervision contract after it successfully delivered for the 59.4 MW Yeong Yang (Stage 1) project earlier.

The Stage 1 commenced its commercial operation last year.

This contract order also comprises a 10-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM4000) service through which the wind turbine manufacturer guarantees a defined level of availability and performance.

Vestas will also provide a SCADA VestasOnline Business system for data-driven monitoring and preventive maintenance.

Vestas head of sales & business development for the Asia Pacific region Gerard Carew said: “Vestas is the leading wind turbine supplier in South Korea where our 3 MW platform’s versatility and proven performance make it well-suited to the market’s challenging wind conditions.

“The order strengthens our relationship with GS, and we thank them for their continued trust in Vestas.”

The wind turbines are expected to get installed and commissioned in the first quarter of the next year.

With around 21,900 employees, Vestas provides wind power solutions globally. It installed 78GW of wind turbines in around 75 countries across the world.
